Job Description
We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a P-Way Technician to join our dynamic AIW/CVL team at Treforest - on site working role.
In this role, you will support the Team Leaders by undertaking and directing work activities in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with all relevant standards. You will be Conducting maintenance works on the CVL network in line with the IM maintenance work bank. This will include rectification of L1 and L2 defects along with rectifications of defects identified by BVI AND SVI patrols.
This role offers you the unique opportunity to work on the core valley lines - currently the biggest investment for transport infrastructure in Wales, undergoing transformation of the services provided
What You'll Do:
Carrying out work safely and in accordance with the safe systems of work procedures, method statements or other relevant instructions.
Undertake and direct work activities in a safe and efficient manner and in accordance with all relevant standards.
Control and check the quality of work undertaken and confirm assets are compliant to standards.
Establish and maintain appropriate safety arrangements for staff under your control including Contractors.
Consistently role model safe behaviours and are confident to challenge if you think a situation is unsafe.
Check that the staff under your control have the appropriate and valid competencies.
Check that vehicles, plant, tools, equipment, and materials under your control are fit for use and are used/stored and disposed of correctly.
Accurately report all work completed/not completed and produce/maintain records as required.

You will bring a positive approach that aligns with our goals and values, along with knowledge and experience of inspection, faulting, maintenance, and renewal techniques in P-Way. Additionally, you have experience as a Picop and are proficient in stressing and track maintenance, both plain line and track maintenance S and C. Your skills include the use of handheld tools like rail drills and Kango. Holding both a COSS and PTS is essential, as well as possessing a full UK driving license.
