Pay Scale: £85 - £100 per day – depending on experience & Contract Type
GSL Education are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support for students with Special Educational Needs in Bromley. Here are some key responsibilities you would typically have as a SEN Teaching Assistant:
Implement Educational Healthcare Plans (EHCPs): Support individual students by following their specific needs outlined in their EHCPs, ensuring the best possible learning outcomes.
Behavioural Management: Assist in creating a positive and engaging learning environment, applying effective strategies to promote good behaviour and student well-being.
Support Student Engagement: Work directly with students to ensure they are included and engaged in classroom activities, encouraging participation and fostering confidence.
Collaborate with Teachers and Staff: Work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and other support personnel to ensure a holistic approach to each student’s learning.
Monitor Student Progress: Regularly track and document students’ development, providing feedback to the educational team to facilitate continuous improvement.
Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with special educational needs.
Support the classroom teacher with daily lesson delivery and classroom management.
The successful candidate for SEN Teaching Assistant will have:
Experience working with children, ideally in a Special Educational Needs (SEN) setting.
CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance, or a relevant qualification is desirable.
A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, or a related field is advantageous.
Knowledge of SEN strategies, including autism and social, emotional, and mental health needs.
Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
Ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
