YOUR ROLE

As part of a vibrant and growth area within the business, we are now adding to the rail team and recruiting for a Rail supervisor to support the Head of Rail Operations and Safety in achieving safety and performance targets. Providing direction on rail safety you will ensure that the business is working in accordance MOD GRRB, LRWI's, JMOW's and K&N airbrake regulations. You will additionally support with quality, Health and safety accepts.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the National Rail Operation Manager (NROM) to maintain a strong safety culture within the rail team.
  • Support the NROM to ensure the safe working of the railway in accordance with the MOD GRRB, LRWI's, JMOW's and K&N airbrake regulations.
  • Support the NROM with all aspects of rail that directly or indirectly affect operations i.e. infrastructure matters, locomotive servicing and wagon management.
  • Responsible for the preparation of all time sheets for submission to the NROM for approval.
  • Support the NROM with the collation, preparation, and presentation of management information.
  • Support the NROM with QSHE related matters including entries into QBT.
  • Assist the NROM with maintaining an overview of K&N national train performance.
  • Perform rail operating duties as required on a national basis.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES

  • Experience in railway operations. Assessed as competent as T/C, driver, and shunter
  • Good Communication skills - written and verbal
  • Experience of dealing with Mainline Train Crews, Contract Repairs, FOC and Network Rail
  • Consultative and collaborative approach
