We have an opportunity for an Assessment Social Worker - Social Care Qualified. To manage a caseload involving assessing needs, determining the appropriate support plan/care package and ensuring its implementation to maintain or improve wellbeing.

Responsibilities

To work alongside a multidisciplinary team to understand intergenerational factors affecting parental capacity and use our systemic practice model to build resilience within families.

Qualification – Essential

* GCSE Grade (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.

* Masters, Degree in Social Work, DipSW or CQSW

* Registered with Social Work England - Essential

* Advanced –Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Social Media.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience Requirements - Criteria-to be Tested at Shortlisting.

* Proven ability to carry out our research and produce resolution outcomes.

* Ability to manage a caseload of complex and challenging cases

* Experience in social work practice with children and families that can be used across the service.

* Ability to understand relevant legislation, regulation, safeguarding practices and research on what works to improve outcomes for children and families

* Ability to support team manager in maintaining and developing high professional standards across the team

* Ability to liaise with other divisions, Council Departments, N.H.S. trusts, schools, carers, and voluntary and independent sector providers.

* Ability to demonstrate evidence of communicating and listening with children and families/carers, taking into account diversity

* Ability to produce written case notes and reports that are well-argued, focused and jargon-free with sound analysis

* Demonstrate the ability to assess the impact of cumulative trauma and be clear about concerns, namely sexual, physical, and emotional abuse, neglect, CSE, gangs, and radicalisation.

* Knowledge of the Care Act 2014 and other statutory instruments, policies, procedures and issues relevant to adult social care

* Experience in managing caseloads of children and families' assessment needs following the National Assessment Framework

* Ability to plan, implement and termination of interventions; and make referrals to the Community Mental Health Team

* Ability to formulate and update childcare plans and child protection plans for looking after children.

* Ability to make referrals to the Community Mental Health Team where adults have particularly complex or problematic needs.

* Experience in the health and education needs of all LACs is met by following national standards.

* Ability to communicate orally and in writing,

* Ability to lead staff and share the operational management of the service and practice.

* Ability to work flexibly to meet competing needs and demands

* Ability To Communicate Effectively Both Orally & In Writing To A Wide Range Of People
