Job Overview:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Vehicle Damage Assessor to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing and evaluating the extent of damage to vehicles involved in accidents or claims. You will work closely with insurance companies, repair shops, and customers to provide accurate damage assessments and ensure timely and cost-effective repairs.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of vehicle repair processes, an eye for detail, and excellent communication skills to liaise with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Vehicle Inspections:
Perform thorough inspections of damaged vehicles, both on-site and in repair shops, to assess and document the extent of the damage.
Identify the type of damage (structural, mechanical, cosmetic) and determine if the vehicle is repairable or a total loss.
Damage Reports:
Produce detailed and accurate damage reports, including photographs, written descriptions, and cost estimates for repairs.
Ensure the reports meet insurance company standards and comply with regulations.
Estimating Repair Costs:
Utilize industry-standard software to prepare repair estimates based on the damage assessed, factoring in parts, labor, and other associated costs.
Provide accurate repair cost breakdowns for approval by insurance companies or clients.
Client and Stakeholder Communication:
Communicate effectively with clients, repair shops, and insurance adjusters to discuss the condition of the vehicle and repair options.
Provide guidance and recommendations for repairs or total loss decisions.
Handle customer inquiries and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
Documentation and Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of inspections, assessments, and communication for future reference and auditing purposes.
Ensure all paperwork is submitted on time and in accordance with company and insurance policies.
Insurance Liaison:
Work with insurance companies to review and approve repair costs, ensuring that the claims process moves smoothly and efficiently.
Assist with dispute resolution regarding repair estimates or total loss decisions.
Vehicle Appraisal:
Provide professional appraisals for vehicles involved in accidents, determining market value before and after the incident.
Assess whether repair or replacement is the best financial option for the insurance company or customer
