Deputy Service Lead – Morven House, Potters Bar, Hertfordshire
Benefits:
£11.46 per hour
37.5 hours per week – 2-3 days off rota (for administrative duties and shift leading), weekend work will be required at times. 18.5 hours admin and 19 hours on floor (Shift leading)

About The Role:
We are providing individuals with practical and emotional care, enabling them to have fulfilled lives and gain further independence.
The service users enjoy the beautiful garden and surroundings at Morven House
Preferably experience of working in a similar environment but not essential as training is provided.
Main duties and responsibilities:
To be part of a rota which provides 24 hour support to young people, aged 18-25, with complex needs and autism
Develop, carry out and amend clients Support Plans, risk assessments, and reviews all in accordance with the companies Policies and Procedures
Develop and provide emotional and practical support to clients enabling them to achieve outcomes set in Support Plans
Support clients to maximise their income, gain access to benefits, and be able to budget for every day expenses such as domestic bills and living needs
Ensure and support clients develop and maintain links with local community facilities, such as educational, recreational and employment opportunities
Support and promote a healthy lifestyle for clients through local health service facilities to be able to maximise their physical wellbeing.
Support clients to develop, build and maintain relationships with their families, friends, colleagues, and professions
Implement and ensure effective safeguarding practise in line with local authority and the company’s policies, procedures and guidelines.
Ensure all clients’ records are maintained and updates in a timely manner and ensure they are compliant to the service specification, service user needs, commissioner requirements, and internal and external KPI’s.
Develop, maintain, and manage risk assessments for the clients, staff and the community
Constantly, and promptly liaise with colleagues, partner agencies and stakeholders regarding safeguarding, welfare and concerns in relation to clients
Promote and support self-advocacy and advocate where appropriate for all clients
Participate in all client reviews, team meetings and training
Maintain safe practice at all times in line with the company health and safety policy
Any additional duties required of you by your line manager
Experience:
Previous experience of supporting young adults with complex needs and autism within a supported living setting is essential
Knowledge and understanding
Up to date knowledge of welfare benefits for designated client groups
Up to date knowledge of health and safety issues relating to the clients
Up to date knowledge of safeguarding vulnerable adults and local policies, protocols, and good practise
Understanding of housing support needs for clients
Understanding of how to support people to support themselves
Understanding of confidentiality and data protection
Understanding of data collection and what benefits that has on the service
Understanding of equality, diversity, and inclusion and how they relate to the client group
Knowledge of different services provided by the statutory and voluntary sector
Understanding of Makaton, PEC’s, and TEACCH
