Job Description
We are looking for an inspiring and passionate educator to join us as Head of the Visual and Performing Arts department. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a talented team and help shape the future of our students through high-quality teaching and a dynamic curriculum.
What you’ll do:
* Lead the development and delivery of an engaging curriculum that challenges and motivates students.
* Create and refine schemes of work and lesson plans that support high standards of teaching and learning.
* Support and guide your team through coaching, training, and feedback to ensure a positive and collaborative teaching environment.
* Monitor student progress through observations, data analysis, and regular assessments, providing support where needed to ensure all students achieve their potential.
* Manage the department’s resources effectively, ensuring they are used to enhance teaching and raise standards.
* Organise and lead extra-curricular activities such as trips, clubs, and revision sessions, helping to inspire students beyond the classroom.
* Foster a supportive, inclusive environment where all students, including those with special educational needs, feel valued and encouraged.
What we’re looking for:
* A qualified teacher with a degree in a relevant subject.
* Proven experience in teaching and a passion for developing young people’s potential.
* Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and support a team.
* A commitment to improving teaching and learning through ongoing professional development.
* A collaborative approach, working with colleagues to enhance the whole school community.
