Job Description
Position: Healthcare Assistant
Location: Morden
Type: Full-Time
We are recruiting for an outstanding Special Educational Needs (SEN) School committed to providing exceptional education and care to students with a variety of Special Educational Needs, including Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) and complex needs. The School caters to students aged 3-11.
The School are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to support students 1:1 and in small groups. This is a full-time role and will be with a view to going permanent. The hours will be from 8.30am-3.30pm, Monday to Friday.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the health and well-being of students, working closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to provide holistic care.
Your duties will include:
Assist with personal care needs, including toileting, feeding, and dressing.
Support students with medical needs, such as administering medication under supervision.
Aid in the use of specialised equipment and mobility aids.
Implement care plans as directed by healthcare professionals.
Monitor and record health observations and report any concerns to the relevant staff.
Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for all students.
Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications and Experience
Previous experience in a healthcare or care assistant role
Knowledge of and experience with PMLD and complex needs is highly desirable.
Relevant healthcare or care qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and on your own initiative.
A caring, patient, and empathetic nature.
Flexibility and adaptability to meet the varied needs of the students.
Basic First Aid certification is an advantage.
