Job Alert: Qualified SEN Primary Teacher – Full Time – January Start – Greenwich

A leading all-through school in Greenwich is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Primary Teacher to join their SEN provision starting in early January. Key Responsibilities:

* Plan and deliver engaging, sensory-based lessons tailored to the diverse needs of students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, Down Syndrome, and learning disabilities.

* Develop individualized lesson plans to support students' learning goals, incorporating sensory play and hands-on activities to maximize student engagement.

* Deliver primary school education lessons aligned with the curriculum while maintaining a focus on engagement and inclusion.

* Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants to provide effective support for students, ensuring an optimal learning environment.

* Regularly assess student progress and adapt teaching strategies to meet evolving needs.

* Create a safe, positive, and stimulating classroom environment where students feel valued and motivated to learn.

* Maintain strong communication with parents and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student development.

* Participate in school meetings, training, and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practice.

* Contribute to the development of the SEN provision and help shape the future of the school’s educational approach.

Qualifications & Experience:

* QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) is essential for this role.

* Previous experience working in a primary school setting, with a focus on SEN students, is required.

* Additional experience in Early Years would be advantageous.

* Knowledge and experience working with children with ASC, ADHD, Down Syndrome, and learning disabilities.

* A passion for working in an SEN environment and commitment to supporting all students to achieve their full potential.

Daily Duties of an SEN Teacher:

* Classroom Management: Create and maintain a positive, structured, and safe classroom environment to encourage learning and emotional development.

* Individualized Support: Work with students on an individual basis to develop their personal learning objectives and deliver targeted instruction.

* Collaborative Teaching: Partner with Teaching Assistants to provide tailored support for students and maximize their learning potential.

* Student Assessments: Regularly assess student progress and adapt lessons accordingly to ensure each child is supported in reaching their goals.

* Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training and contribute to the development of the SEN provision within the school.
