Salary: £33,000+ per annum + Excellent Benefits!

If you are an experienced Research professional hoping to apply your skills in the world-leading insurance sector, this could be the role for you.

The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of experience working with numerical data research.

You will need to seek data sources independently, analyse and process the data using Excel, and support the development of our global insurance data offerings.

This role is about high-level research, where you will find credible global data sources and manipulate numerical data to fit the Axco platform.

Job Purpose, Tasks, and Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Responsible for maintaining and updating Axco's market data offerings.
  • Focus on finding the best global data sources for the team.
  • Use analytical skills to categorise, harmonise, and maintain growing datasets.
  • Process and manipulate numerical data (e.g., insurance types sold by region) to fit the Axco platform.
  • Produce and maintain global insurance data for products like Insurance Market Reports, Axco Navigator, and bespoke client deliverables.
  • Assist with client queries and collaborate with consultant writers.
  • Curate data to support teams across the business.
  • Conduct independent research to discover new data sources.
  • Contribute to the optimization of team processes.
  • Work with third-party vendors to ensure quality deliverables.
  • Assist with quality control to ensure data meets high standards.
  • Attention to detail is crucial to maintaining data quality.

This data serves a variety of evolving Axco products which our clients use for actionable purposes. The team are always looking at interesting ways on how to portray this so the role offers someone innovation and the chance to optimise processes.

What's the Most Challenging Thing About This Role?

Axco work with specialised data and produce analysis on this to experienced and can be fairly senior-level individuals, so we need to make sure anything we produce is without any errors. This person needs to have high attention to detail to spot errors.

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • At least an undergraduate degree, with a postgrad preferred but not essential. You should demonstrate some quantitative skills, but the subject doesn't matter. More than anything, it's important that you can conduct high-quality research and analysis.
  • Previous experience conducting market data research and analysis is a plus, especially in the insurance or banking industry, though we understand this role may appeal to people with a broader background.
  • Excellent reading comprehension and first-class web research skills to identify the best sources of data.
  • Experience working with datasets in Excel, including basic formulas, filtering, and pivot tables.
  • Experience with more advanced data tools like Power BI or SQL is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail is a must. Our reports are lengthy and contain specialized data, and you'll be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of this data.
