Job Description
We require a 1:1 Teaching Assistant working in a Primary school in Dingle. The right Teaching Assistants will be able to cater for children aged 3-5 and be comfortable with pupils with a range of complex Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, enabling their academic development while creating inspiring opportunities for pupils’ social, moral, spiritual and cultural awareness.
The right Teaching Assistant will be able to work from 8:30-15:30 and this is a long term, full time role. The rates of pay will be £84 per day.
The main responsibilities for a Teaching Assistant are to:
• Support students with their socio-emotional engagement with learning and promote independence in a safe environment.
• Work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for each student.
• Promote the inclusion of all students, so that all have equal opportunities to feel included and to contribute to school life.
• Support class teachers to create a supportive and relaxed working environment that make students feel happy and secure.
• Implement the positive behaviour approaches set out by the school, including Restorative Practice and Zones of Regulation.
A good understanding of behaviour as communication, attachment theory, communication needs in the classroom, and theory underlying nurture provision are ideal for any professional working in our school.
