Location: Red Barn Quarry, Mill Lane, Hebburn, NE31 2EQ

  • 15 minutes from Newcastle upon Tyne and Gateshead
  • 25 minutes from Sunderland
  • 30 minutes from Durham

Join Ibstock PLC as a Quarry Management Trainee , and over the next 4 years, work toward a Level 5 qualification in Mineral Products . This apprenticeship gives you the chance to develop the skills needed to launch your career as a Quarry Team Leader or Supervisor and even study for your Degree supported by us.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Ensuring safe operations and compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Supporting quarry planning, managing contractors, and conducting routine safety checks.
  • Assisting with performance management, maintaining production levels , and implementing quality control measures.
  • Learning extraction, processing systems, and clay technology to optimize efficiency .
  • Handling paperwork, performance tracking, and budget management for the quarry.
  • Building links with local organisations and understanding customer processes.

Who We're Looking For:

  • Practical and hands-on individuals eager to gain real-world experience with a market-leading manufacturer.
  • Minimum 5 GCSEs at Grade 4-9 (or equivalent) including Maths, English, and Science.
  • A-levels, NVQ Level 3, or BTEC in Maths, Science, or a related field.
  • A full UK driving license is advantageous, with flexibility to travel when needed
