Job Description: Area Manager – Residential Care Homes
Location: Dorset and Hampshire
Salary: Circa £80,000 (DOE)
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Area Manager to oversee the successful operation of five residential care homes within our client’s group. This role requires a hands-on leader with a proven track record in Multi-Site Care Home Management or Area Manager roles in the care sector along with a history of ‘GOOD’ or ‘OUTSTANDING CQC reports
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership: Act as the primary point of contact for Home Managers in your area, providing day-to-day support and guidance to ensure homes are well-managed.
Quality Assurance: Regularly inspections and audits of the homes, ensuring compliance with CQC regulations and other governing standards. Provide actionable feedback to ensure continuous improvement.
Managerial Support: Step in as interim Home Manager when needed during managerial absences, maintaining the smooth running of the home and upholding the highest care standards.
Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with other Area Managers and Directors to implement new initiatives and share best practices across the group.
Business Performance: Monitor and support homes to meet occupancy targets and maintain budgetary efficiency. Identify opportunities to improve financial performance while maintaining quality care.
Staff Development: Mentor and empower Home Managers, fostering a culture of accountability, professional development, and excellence across all homes.
Crisis Management: Respond swiftly and effectively to challenges, providing hands-on solutions and ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

You will be:
Experienced: Proven success as a Registered Manager with ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ CQC reports. Multi-site management experience is essential.
Knowledgeable: Comprehensive understanding of CQC regulations and requirements of other regulatory bodies.
People-Centered: Strong leadership and communication skills to motivate teams and resolve challenges effectively.
Business Savvy: Commercially astute with a focus on maintaining occupancy rates and cost efficiencies.
Flexible: Adaptable to changing needs and willing to travel between homes, including overnight stays when required.
Self-Motivated: Energetic, innovative, and capable of working independently.
Tech-Savvy: Proficient in using computer systems and writing detailed reports.
Key Requirements
Previous experience managing multiple care homes
NVQ Level 5 in Health and Social Care
A history of GOOD/OUTSTANDING CQC reports
Full UK Driving License and access to own vehicle.
Ability to travel between locations within Dorset, Hampshire, and Isle of Wight.
