Intermediate - Senior Software Engineer
Brio Digital is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer with extensive experience in C# to join a dynamic team for a tech for good consultancy to deliver innovative solutions. If you have 5+ years of experience developing, deploying, and maintaining scalable web applications using cloud infrastructure, we want to hear from you!
ROLE: As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a vital role in the project team, initially contributing to a statistics platform for a public sector client. Over time, you'll expand your influence to lead the software development for various projects. Your expertise will be critical in building new features, troubleshooting complex issues, and collaborating directly with clients to deliver impactful solutions.
You'll be part of a multidisciplinary team, working alongside talented professionals, contributing to code reviews, mentoring junior developers, and helping to shape the company's software development culture. We value individuals who stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies and who have a passion for continuous improvement.
KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Essential:
Extensive experience in C# for web development (preferably using ASP.NET)
Solid understanding of relational SQL databases, data modelling (preferably SQL Server)
Experience with ORM frameworks like Entity Framework
Proficient in unit and integration testing
Comfortable designing and building REST APIs
Expertise in building and managing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar platforms
Strong knowledge of Git for code collaboration
Experience in Agile development using Jira or similar tools
Excellent problem-solving skills and bug diagnosis abilities
Strong understanding of security best practices for applications
Excellent communication skills with the ability to present ideas to various audiences
Technical writing skills for clear and concise documentation
Experience mentoring or providing code reviewsDesirable:
Familiarity with Docker and containerized development workflows
Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, Bicep, or ARM Templates
Experience with cloud services (Azure or AWS) and cloud-native infrastructure
Knowledge of automated testing tools (Selenium, Playwright, etc.)
Proficiency in Unix-like environments and command-line tools
Familiarity with scripting languages like Python or Bash
SALARY & BENEFITS:
Salary: £43,000 - £56,000 per annum (DOE)
