Job Advertisement: Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant
Location: Primary Schools in Greenwich
Contract Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
Salary: £87 - £100, dependent on experience
Start Date: 13th December 2024
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs?
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join our team, working across Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), Key Stage 1 (KS1), and Key Stage 2 (KS2) in primary schools across Greenwich.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
Provide one-to-one and group support for pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and sensory impairments.
Work collaboratively with class teachers and SENCOs to adapt lesson plans and deliver tailored support.
Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment, ensuring all children feel valued and supported.
Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor progress.
Encourage independence and confidence in pupils through targeted interventions and positive reinforcement.
Support pupils with their social, emotional, and personal development needs.We are looking for someone who is:
Enthusiastic, patient, and empathetic, with a genuine commitment to helping children thrive.
Experienced in working with children with SEN (experience across EYFS, KS1, and KS2 is desirable).
Knowledgeable about SEN strategies, including Makaton, PECS, or sensory regulation techniques (training can be provided).
A team player who can build strong relationships with staff, pupils, and parents.
Flexible and adaptable to work across various schools and year groups.
Holding relevant qualifications such as a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is advantageous but not essential.
