Alternative Provision that is thriving in the London Borough of Bexley is recruiting for a Maths Teacher / Teacher of Maths (MPS or UPS). Full time January 2025 long term contract vacancy.
The Head is focused and a true visionary for the Alternative Provision and its future. With a strong Senior Leadership Team, Behaviour Support and SEN Teachers, this is an outstanding Alternative Provision to work. Pupils who attend have been diagnosed with SEMH/ ADHD and have behavioural difficulties between 12 - 17 years. They respond well to engaging, creative, fun, dedicated, resilient and genuine staff. SEN Teachers have been graded minimum of a Good in their lesson observations.
Great new opportunity has arisen for an immediate, long-term Maths Teacher / Teacher of Maths (MPS or UPS) who can teach at both KS3 & KS4 levels. This position wouldn’t suit an ECT but better suited to an experienced MPS or UPS Maths Teacher/ Teacher of Maths, who has a mainstream teaching qualification; ie GTP / PGCE / Cert Ed /SCITT/ Teach First/ QTS/ QTLS). You have a strong STEM background with exceptional maths teaching experience at KS3 up to GCSE. You will be teaching small classes of 5 – 7 SEN children with behavioural difficulties so you will be a fun teacher who can engage your pupils well and able to de-escalate behaviour well. Your SEN experience; ie SEMH/ CAMHS/ ODD/ ADD/ ADHD/ Autism/Complex Needs/ Behaviour Difficulties. As a Maths Teacher, must have worked in either a Pupil Referral Unit / Alternative Provision / SEN School and / or Mainstream Secondary School.
The successful Maths Teacher / Teacher of Maths;
Well-qualified QTS Maths Teacher who has a teaching qualification; ie SCITT/ PGCE/ Teach First /Cert Ed/ QTS/ GTP/ QTLS
Experienced Maths MPS and UPS Teachers welcome to apply
Taught Maths between KS3 up to GCSE
SEN experience with children; ODD/ ADD/ADHD/ ASD/ SEMH/ CAMHS/ SEMH/ ADD/ ASD/ Behaviour Challenges
Able to successfully de-escalate behaviour, great at building a strong rapport with young people and can teach an engaging and fun lessons
Can teach small groups.
Strong STEM background with great subject knowledge
Can demonstrate a “Good” lesson
Experience working in either a PRU/ Mainstream Secondary School/ SEN School or Alternative Provision
Lives in easy commuting distance to the borough of Bexley
