Band 5 – £18.66 – Monday to Friday 07.45-16.00 (37.5 hours per week)
East Suffolk & North Essex Foundation Trust are looking for a Multiskilled Technician to join their friendly team on a temporary basis to carry out the repair, maintenance or installation of plant, equipment, systems and building structure/fabric associated with all East Suffolk & North Essex Foundation Trust (ESNEFT) properties.
The role will consist of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), testing and calibration, fault finding, emergency response, defect correction and new works. This will relate in particular but not be limited to the Sterile Services/Decontamination Departments across East Suffolk & North Essex Foundation Trust (ESNEFT) properties.
Key Job Responsibilities:
* Diagnose and repair faults in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering and Plumbing installations; Plant and Equipment maintenance with particular respect to de-contamination, Sterilizers; Pharmacy and Endoscopy Equipment etc. utilizing technical information and computerised data to formulate action required.
* Understand the working of mechanical and/or electrical and plumbing systems within NHS
buildings.
* Manufacture, assemble, erect and install new work and carry out repairs, maintain and efficiently run plant and equipment.
* Have an understanding of with domestic hot water, mains cold water, plumbing, high temperature, hot water heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and steam heating systems.
* Have an understanding of types of pumps, circulation systems, belt drives, pulleys
and direct drive systems.
* Carry out specialist repairs on larger items of plant such as high pressure industrial
steam boilers and absorption chiller plant, autoclaves, air conditioning, microprocessor
controlled equipment, also general domestic repairs.

Person Specification
* Must have NVQ Level 3 in engineering or equivalent.
* Must be able to demonstrate they have two years post qualification experience in
a similar specialist role in a commercial or industrial building services engineering
environment.
* Minimum of 2 years’ experience of Porous Loads; unwrapped instrument and Utensils; Washer Disinfectors, Sonic Baths and Flexible Endoscope Washers.
* Full driving license essential.
* Good manual dexterity and ability to work at height using access from ladders/scaffold and able to work in confined spaces.
