Teaching Assistant Job, available in Winchester
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work with a Year R pupil with Downs Syndrome. This role is due to start January 2025 on a full time basis.
Key Details:
Position: 1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
Start Date: From January 2025
Location: Small village school (no public transport available - driving is essential)
Role: Supporting a Year R girl transitioning into school with Downs Syndrome
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 support to a young child with Downs Syndrome, helping them transition smoothly into school life
Implement tailored strategies to support the child's communication and interaction needs
Foster a calm, nurturing, and patient learning environment
Work closely with teaching staff and the SENCO to ensure the child's needs are met effectively
Monitor and report on the child's progress, adjusting support as necessary
Ideal Candidate:
Experience working with children with SEN, particularly Down Syndrome
A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with the child
Understanding of early years development and transition
A driver with access to a vehicle (no public transport to the school)
