Permanent | Gateshead
£55,000 – £65,000 + Benefits (DOE)
Monday – Friday

Are you a detail-oriented Civils Estimator seeking a new opportunity?
Our client, a forward-thinking company, is looking for an experienced Civils Estimator to join their team in Gateshead. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and securing profitable civil engineering projects, acting as the principal point of contact between the company and clients professional teams throughout the tendering process.
What We’re Looking For:
• Experience: Proven experience in analyzing tender documents, contract terms, and conditions specific to civil engineering projects.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in cost estimation, developing sub-contract terms, and value engineering designs within the civil engineering sector.
• Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage consultants and warranty providers effectively.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to identify potential issues and implement strategies to overcome them.
• Software Proficiency: Familiarity with BIM-enabled design and relevant IT tools.
Key Responsibilities:
• Analyse project plans and specifications to prepare detailed cost estimates for civil engineering projects.
• Conduct site visits to gather essential information for accurate estimations.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to develop comprehensive project plans.
• Assess cost-effectiveness of products, projects, or services, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Coordinate with contractors, clients, and vendors to obtain and negotiate pricing.
• Maintain records of estimated and actual costs, updating them as necessary.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest construction technology, techniques, and regulations.
