Job Description
Title: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
Role: Bespoke automation
Location: Cambridgeshire
Salary: £45k-£55k
Platform Recruitment has partnered with a manufacturer specialising in the development of bespoke special purpose machinery. They’re seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer who is interested in all aspects of product development, including concept generation, prototyping, testing, analysis, and manufacturing. The ideal candidate will be adept at delivering robust and thoroughly tested mechanical design solutions and leading the mechanical development of new product development projects.
The Role:
+ 3D CAD design
+ Design and develop bespoke machinery
+ Prototype and test designs
+ Translate customer requirements to specifications
+ Test feasibility of customer requirements
+ Produce BOM’s
+ Work as part of a team and on individual projects
Requirements:
+ Hands-on experience managing end-to-end product development
+ Strong 3D CAD skills
+ Produce manufacturing drawings
+ Experienced in designing special purpose machinery/capital equipment
+ Knowledge of fabrication, machining and assembly techniques
+ Hands on and practical
The salary will be between £45,000-£55,000 depending on experience. There is also a generous benefits package available
