Experienced Teaching Assistant - SEND Education

SEND School
Based in Benfleet
Full-timeWe are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant who is dedicated and passionate about supporting children with special educational needs. The school caters for children and young adults from 5-18 years old with varied SEND needs, such as ASC, SEMH, PMLD, Physical Disabilities, Mental Health, Visual Impairment and Hearing Impairment. Personal Care is required, I.E. changing pads, but this can also be helping pupils put socks on and lessons in brushing their teeth.

Your role as a Teaching Assistant will be to support pupils on a 1:1 or group basis with their learning development and care needs while at school. Experience working with children with special educational needs is not essential, as training will be given. However, experience working within a school-based environment is critical, as you must have basic knowledge and understanding of supporting children within an educational setting.

Job Responsibilities

Experience supporting young adults or children in education
Experience or willingness to assist with personal care
Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively
A valid DBS registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new DBS.
Available 5 days a week and able to commit to at least 1-6 monthsBenefits to you
