Local Authority is seeking a motivated Building Control Surveyor to join our team and play a vital role in maintaining safety, quality, and compliance across our local built environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess plans, specifications, and site works to ensure compliance with Building Regulations and associated legislation.
Conduct site inspections at all stages of construction to monitor compliance with safety, accessibility, and energy efficiency standards.
Provide expert advice to developers, contractors, and residents on building control matters.
Investigate and resolve dangerous structures, demolitions, and unauthorised works to safeguard public safety.
Ensure high-quality service delivery by liaising with stakeholders, including architects, engineers, and other professionals.
Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation for building control decisions and inspections.
About You:
Qualified Professional: Degree or equivalent in building surveying, construction, or a related field. Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS, CABE, or CIOB) is desirable.
Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of Building Regulations, building standards, and associated legislation.
Site Experience: Proven experience inspecting works and managing a range of construction projects.
Problem-Solver: Ability to assess complex issues, provide solutions, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Effective Communicator: Excellent verbal and written skills with a professional approach to stakeholder engagement.
Organized and Proactive: Ability to manage workloads effectively, working both independently and as part of a team
