Job Description
CMA Recruitment Group is delighted to be partnering exclusively with a very well established organisation based in Basingstoke, Hampshire to recruit an Accounts Payable Clerk. Reporting to Head of Transactional Accounting, the successful candidate will be flexible in their approach and happy to support where required.
What will the Accounts Payable role involve?
Receive, process and pay supplier invoices, resolving all queries.
Match invoices to PO’s or send out invoices/ claims without purchase orders to the buyers/ managers for authorising signatories and coding.
Code invoices where necessary.
Interact with buyers, suppliers and the commercial teams over disputed invoices.
Undertake supplier statement reconciliations.
Organising payments to suppliers, ensuring that they are paid within agreed terms.
To undertake balance sheet reconciliations as required.
Input invoices onto system.
Dealing with problem accounts and playing an active role in resolving queries.
Liaison with supplier’s accounts department to discuss any queries.
Posting manual payments and matching against invoices when necessary.
Clearing of exceptions on supplier invoices.
Support with AP weekly and monthly reporting.
Suitable Candidate for the Accounts Payable vacancy:
GCSE or equivalent in Maths & English.
Strong VAT knowledge in connection with AP invoices.
Use of integrated AP/PO system.
Competent Excel user (vlookup, pivot, sumifs).
Knowledge and experience of journals useful but not essential.
Wider basic accounting knowledge useful but not essential.
Good customer service skills.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Good organisation skills.
