Job Description
Job Title:Senior Quantity Surveyor
Thorn Baker has teamed up with a national Award-winning civils contractorwho are looking for a dedicated and skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Major Projects Team. Day in, day out, their teams deliver some of the UK's most ambitious, exciting and meaningful projects; developing, building and maintaining the vital infrastructure that supports national economies and strengthens communities.
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will provide expert guidance to the Commercial/Quantity Surveying team and Project Directors/Managers on all matters related to commercial activities for a specific package or multiple packages. You will be responsible for ensuring robust commercial and contractual management while coordinating the efforts of all stakeholders involved in the execution of the assigned package(s), ensuring smooth project delivery and effective collaboration.

Required Skills:
Extensive experience in Quantity Surveying within a relevant business environment
Valid CSCS card and UK driving licence
Working knowledge of construction and contract law along with various forms of Conditions of Contract.
Significant knowledge of construction techniques on particular projects.
BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or experience equivalent
Membership of RICS, ICES or CIOB (or working towards)
Practical application of Microsoft Office - predominantly Excel
Experience of using a cost system i.e. Oracle or similar

Ability to resolve conflict and build respect between multi-disciplinary teams
Encourages inter-team collaboration as well as with off-site functions
Strong communication and excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
