Job Title: Project Engineer (Mechanical or Electrical Bias)
Location: Leeds
Salary: £60,000 - £65,000 + Company Package (including car allowance)
Project Value: £13 million M&E
Contract Length: 3 years

The role will be focused on a major residential project in Leeds, with a total M&E value of £13 million, scheduled to commence on-site in October 2025, with pre-construction works beginning early 2025.
Role Overview:
As a Project Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of this large-scale, multi-block residential development project. You will assist with the coordination and execution of the mechanical and electrical systems from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring that work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety. This role requires strong technical expertise and the ability to work collaboratively with the project team to achieve project goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Pre-construction Phase:
Collaborate with the senior management team to support the development of the project plan, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
Assist in the review and finalisation of design documents, ensuring that technical specifications are accurate and feasible.
Project Delivery:
Oversee day-to-day operations on-site, supporting the project team and subcontractors.
Coordinate M&E works to ensure tasks are completed in accordance with the project specifications and timelines.
Monitor the progress of the project, ensuring the work meets the required standards of quality and safety.
Technical Support:
Provide technical guidance and support for the M&E works, ensuring compliance with project requirements and regulations.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise on-site.
Assist in ensuring the proper installation and testing of M&E systems.
Budget and Cost Control:
Support the project team in tracking costs and identifying potential financial risks.
Assist in implementing cost-effective solutions to maintain the project budget.
Health & Safety:
Ensure all site activities adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations in line with company policies.
Support site safety audits and maintain safety documentation.
Quality Assurance:
Monitor the quality of work on-site, ensuring that all M&E works comply with industry standards and client requirements.
Participate in regular site inspections and quality checks.
Communication and Stakeholder Management:
Assist in maintaining effective communication with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure alignment across the project.
Report on progress, challenges, and solutions to senior management.
Skills & Experience Required:
Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of mechanical or electrical systems, with either a mechanical or electrical engineering background.
Project Engineering Experience: Proven experience in delivering large-scale building services projects in the M&E field.
Pre-construction Knowledge: Experience in the early stages of project planning, including assisting with budgeting, scheduling, and technical review.
Team Collaboration: Ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team, providing support where needed.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
Qualifications:
A relevant engineering degree or technical qualification in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Previous experience in M&E projects, with a focus on residential or commercial developments.
Relevant safety and compliance certifications, such as NEBOSH or similar, would be advantageous.
