Job Description

Sr. Launch & Expansion Manager, EU DSP Expansion, Last Mile Job ID: 2739404 | Amazon Italia Transport Srl The DSP team is building a world-class last mile operation capable of exceeding the expectations of our customers. We ensure that customer orders, no matter how large or small, are delivered as quickly, accurately, and cost-effectively as possible by a network of entrepreneurially owned and operated small businesses, our Delivery Service Partners (DSP). To enable the program to scale in a sustainable way, Amazon is seeking an exceptional Sr. Launch & Expansion Manager who will be part of a start-up group with the charter to grow and scale the DSP program across multiple Modes of Transport (MoTs) by delivering cutting-edge expansion paths and capabilities for current and future last mile transportation initiatives. This Sr. Launch & Expansion Manager will be directly responsible for helping Amazon deliver launch and expansion plans for new last mile transportation initiatives which focus on attracting delivery partners. The focus of this role will be to build an effective launch and risk mitigation plan that enables DSPs to expand Amazon's last mile operations globally to meet customer needs. This is a fast-growing space with loads of complexity due to the unique challenges and services required to enable deliveries. This individual will take over the DSP Product baton from our WW partner team who designs the initial offering and will own the end-to-end programme launch life-cycle, from research to product localization through the operation deployment on road; specifically, they will design comprehensive launch plans and mechanisms, drive risk assessments and remediation, and coordinate all launch work-streams which span across multiple functions and countries, as well as identify opportunities to continually enhance the program for Amazon customers and the entrepreneurs that own and operate small delivery businesses. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in the rapidly growing Amazon Logistics organization. We are seeking an experienced leader with exceptional project and stakeholder management skills. The optimal fit for this role will be a candidate wanting to roll up their sleeves, dive into a challenge, develop a solution and path forward by working with multiple stakeholders, and convince senior management that their solution is the best one. This will be a high visibility role, meaning that the optimal candidate will be comfortable driving critical business decisions in fast-paced, high-pressure, and often ambiguous environments, and elevating critical one-way door decisions to senior leadership, as well as regularly communicating with senior management on status, risks, and action plans and facilitating large meetings to ensure our project timelines stay on track. Any background in logistics, last mile, supply chain, or with metrics and program management will be considered a plus. We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations: UK, IT, ES, FR, DE. Please note, this role may require travel across the EU and WW. Key Job Responsibilities Manage several competing priorities ensuring critical projects remain visible to all stakeholders whilst maintaining a plan for less urgent matters. Dive deep into various work streams and not be afraid to learn about each stakeholder's contribution and challenges. Write and review business cases using information acquired from various stakeholders. Prioritize work-streams that have the biggest impact on timelines and report status in a timely manner. Possess a strong management technical approach but at the same time be able to 'roll up their sleeves' and jump in to solve bottlenecks where needed. Be comfortable in different projects and roles, sometimes supporting, sometimes leading and escalating any blockers to achieving project growth. Maintain the overall project plan that enables the teams to be successful based upon the project milestones and Go-Live. Obtain stakeholder feedback, compile white papers and run monthly business review processes to update all stakeholders. Document writing at a high-bar to drive decisions. About the Team The EU DSP team partners with entrepreneurial individuals to build sustainable and scalable delivery capacity so that Amazon can continue to delight customers with fast, efficient, and bar-raising fulfillment of their orders. We're building a world-class last mile operation capable of exceeding the expectations of our customers by ensuring that their orders, no matter how large or small, are delivered as quickly, accurately, and cost-effectively as possible. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in business, mathematics, economics, engineering or related field. Experience in program or operations management.
