Job Description:
Actively participate in patient care, including:Rooming patients, taking blood pressure readings, and performing EKGs.
Recording patient vitals in the EPIC system.
Setting up virtual appointments.
Conducting medication reconciliation.
Handling and identifying specimens correctly.
Performing other relevant procedures based on patient needs, including patient transport to the ER if necessary.
Utilize the Ambulatory Patient Tracking system accurately.
Maintain the Code Crash Cart, ensuring the daily checklist is completed.
Ensure a clean and organized environment by regularly cleaning and stocking exam rooms and the phlebotomy area.
Maintain clinical equipment, including:Daily transmission of EKG recordings.
Monthly calibration of scales.
Contacting Bio-Medical Engineering for any broken or expired equipment.
Provide coverage for medical assistant shortages in other areas of the Cardiology department as needed.
Promote patient and customer satisfaction by interacting with patients and colleagues in a professional and courteous manner.
Required Skills/Abilities/Competencies:
BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) is required.
EKG Certification is required.
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) is preferred.
Certification: Basic Life Support , Certified Electrocardiogram Technician
