Job Description
Position: Inclusion Teaching Assistant
Sector: Mainstream Primary Education
Experience: Supporting Children with Autism
Salary: £84 - £90 per day (dependent on qualifications and experience)
As the number of Special Educational Needs (SEN) children in mainstream education increases, schools are adapting and creating SEN hubs within their premises. Teaching Personnel is closely collaborating with a cluster of mainstream primary schools to provide SEN and inclusion teaching assistants for these new hubs. We are currently seeking experienced Teaching Assistants who have worked with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) to join our team.
This role will involve working closely, usually on a 1:1 basis, with children who have ASD, ADHD, and additional needs. Although these primary schools are mainstream, the children you will be supporting have complex needs and some may be non-verbal. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring these children receive the necessary support and are able to engage with the curriculum content.
The ideal candidate will possess:
Experience working effectively as part of a team within a classroom setting
Previous experience supporting children with Autism and/or associated learning difficulties
An understanding of the needs of children with ASD
Commitment to building and maintaining positive relationships with children and colleagues
A friendly, positive approach in the classroom
Caring, patient, and understanding qualities while remaining proactive and inspirational

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
