Job Description

Requirements: Minimum of 5 years experience in metal fabrication, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role. Proven experience with welding, cutting, machining, and metal forming processes. Strong knowledge of workshop machinery, tools, and equipment used in metal fabrication. Responsibilities: Team Leadership & Supervision: Lead and supervise a team of skilled metal fabricators and technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure maximum productivity and high-quality work output. Allocate tasks and set priorities based on project timelines, ensuring all team members understand their roles and responsibilities. Foster a positive and collaborative team culture, promoting safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement. Workshop Operations: Oversee the daily operations of the workshop, ensuring that all machinery, tools, and equipment are maintained and operated safely and efficiently. Monitor production schedules, ensuring that all projects are completed on time and to specification. Troubleshoot technical issues, providing solutions to any challenges that may arise during the fabrication process. Quality Control & Safety: Maintain high standards of quality control, ensuring all fabricated products meet industry standards and client specifications. Conduct regular quality checks on materials, processes, and finished products to identify areas for improvement. Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment for all team members. Lead by example in adhering to safety protocols and encourage a culture of safety in the workshop. Project Coordination: Work closely with the production manager and project managers to review project requirements, timelines, and budget constraints. Ensure that project specifications and deadlines are met, while maintaining flexibility to adapt to changes as needed. Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of workshop activities, including daily job hour tracking. Prepare and submit regular reports on workshop performance, including productivity, quality control, and safety metrics.
