Taking over the top-floor of YOTEL Glasgow with views across the city, VEGA sets the bar sky-high as the citys must-visit bar, restaurant, bowling alley and events venue. Offering an all-day casual dining and co-working concept, imaginative cocktails, glossy interiors and bold events, every detail of the venue has been carefully designed to bring the fun to Glasgow in a uniquely VEGA way.

Open till late 7 days a week, as well as being a destination for locals and visitors to the city, were also the social hub of YOTEL Glasgow, serving as a space for our hotel guests to work, meet, drink and socialise.

About the role

As ourFood & Beverage Manageryou will play an instrumental part in the delivery of the venue concept for VEGA. This will be done by working with the General Manager and London HQ in the creation of menus, ensuring consistency & quality of the food and service being offered to our guests, as well as creating opportunities to activate the venue to attract outside guests.

Reporting to the hotel General Manager, the Food & Beverage Manager will serve as a key member of the hotel senior management team.

More specifically, responsibilities will include the following:

  • The role will be responsible for the smooth running of Food & Beverage on a day-to-day basis.
  • To direct all activities of Food & Beverage to ensure quality, efficiency in service whilst driving volume and sales in all areas of responsibility.
  • Support the coaching and development of the Food & Beverage team to ensure they are confident, motivated and empowered when interacting with our guests.
  • Collaborate with the hotel management team to drive innovation and continued development of the guest journey.

As well as the above-mentioned tasks, the Food & Beverage Manager will be responsible in ensuring all food safety and health & safety requirements are met.

The skills we are looking for are:

  • Experience crafting and executing events and creative experiences in a food & beverage environment.
  • Experience managing a busy multi-faceted venue including the ability to lead a large and diverse team.
  • Confident in both front and back of house this role requires someone everywhere all the time.
  • Strong drinks knowledge with a focus on cocktails.
  • Numerate and analytical, be able to establish credibility and communicate a message. In addition, the successful individual will be able to withstand pressure and be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge and practical application of how to ensure drinks and food profitability targets are hit.
  • Knowledge of the Glasgow food and drinks scene is essential.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills by using their outgoing personality to interact with guests, employees, HQ and others.
