Are you ready to make a significant impact on a dynamic and growing company? We are seeking a talented Process Chemist to join the Manufacturing and R&D team at our Sheffield site. In this position you will be a member of the R&D team working cross functionally supporting the team at our Sheffield site.

In the role you will be responsible for...
- Work from R&D to implement new formulations and processes onto the production plant
- SCADA recipe installation & problem solving
- Formula set up and maintenance in Oracle systems
- Assist in and oversee Scale-up process and trials as formulas transfer from R&D to plant
- Become proficient in the use of the Formula Manufacturing Assurance Programme (FMAP)
- Provision of R&D support to the production plant
- Process change/Improvement investigation work
- Help with production batch corrections & rework investigation
- Involvement in change management, troubleshooting and root cause investigations
- Other lab support to the quality assurance and consumer services departments
- Bachelors Degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, polymer/materials science or related technical discipline
- Basic laboratory skills
- Effective written & verbal communication skills
- Confidence in presenting in formal or informal environments
- Ability to work flexibly and respond positively to changing priorities
- Ability to work in a team environment and on own initiative
Preferred:
- Masters Degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, polymer/materials science or related technical discipline
- Previous industrial/chemistry experience
- Six Sigma knowledge
- Ability to work successfully in a matrixed organization
- Paints/coatings formulation experience
- Driving license is preferred due to occasional travel
