Job Description

REQUIREMENTS Matric, Trade Test - Advantageous Experience with technical products and or have mechanical exposure Minimum 5 years previous experience in a managerial workshop position Mechanical / process theory exposure (preferable) Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams Exceptional attention to detail Technically competent with ability to train internally and externally Knowledge of the Syspro System and or a similar ERP system Microsoft Office literate (Specifically Excel) Must be a good verbal communicator with relevant key points Must have ability to construct relevant structured reports Self-confident while remaining composed under pressure Expressive and passionate to a committed task/project Be able to be an effective listener to extract specifics in problems and solutions Ability to work as part of a team and to contribute accordingly Production process or automation experience. Experience in the managing of specific contracts and projects including the installation of the specific equipment sold as well as operator training. Knowledge of the Occupation Health & Safety Act. Strong planning skills Ability to prioritise tasks/workload DUTIES Lead and manage the workshop on a day-to-day basis. Visit customers and assist technicians in faulty findings and provide technical assistance. Management of staff and stock (including stock take) Maintain and develop both supplier and customer relationships. Health and Safety Manage customer engagements, ensuring that processes are implemented and maintained so as to achieve the highest possible customer satisfaction. Deliver maximum Gross Profit for the workshop by maximizing the number of hours and spares sold. Allocate and control the issue of work to Technicians, so as to maximize productivity. Ensure the accurate completion of all relevant documentation for all repairs. Prepare all weekly and monthly reports detailing the efficiency and productivity of workshop. Conduct process evaluations and introduce improvements. Book in tools for repairs, prepare quotes and invoice out finished jobs on Syspro platform. Follow up on all quotations and purchase orders. Ensure procedures are in place and properly followed in respect of loan tools. Maximize spare parts availability whilst minimizing stock levels.
