As a Senior UI Developer at Kemper, you will provide technical consulting for application software development and computing technologies, with a strong focus on developing intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces with responsive design and excellent user experience. You will primarily work on agent-facing applications, ensuring they are easy to use and meet the needs of our agents. At Kemper, you will collaborate with a team of experts passionate about innovative and result-driven technologies, continuously learning and growing together.

Responsibilities

UI Development

Design, Develop and maintain scalable, high-performance web applications specifically for agent-facing auto insurance platforms.

Collaborate with UX/UI designers to implement user-friendly interfaces that enhance the digital experience for insurance agents.

Implement mobile-first and responsive design principles to ensure optimal user experience across devices.

Develop and maintain reusable UI components.

Collaborate with UX designers to translate design wireframes into high-quality code.

Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.

Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.

Conduct UI testing using Karma to ensure the quality and functionality of the user interface.

Work with JSON and Postman for API integration and testing.

Troubleshoot and debug issues to improve overall user experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience or appropriate technical certification.

At least 5 years of professional software development experience, with a strong background in web UI development on agent-facing applications and familiarity with the auto insurance industry.

Expert in JavaScript framework (Angular/TypeScript), NPM, HTML, CSS, Angular CLI, Git, RxJS.

Front-end experience (HTML5, Material/Tailwinds, CSS3) developing responsive designed applications

Experience with Mobile development - iOS, Android, ReactNative.

Solid understanding of mobile-first and responsive design principles

Proficiency with the latest version Angular framework.

Experience with UI testing frameworks and tools, particularly Karma.

Experience with consuming Web Services (REST, SOAP) and APIs

Experience with cloud-based CDN services like Amazon CloudFront.

Experience with static code analysis and scanning tools such as SonarQube

Experience with PWA is a plus.

This is a hybrid position working at a Kemper office location in Alpharetta, Birmingham, Chicago or Jacksonville
