Job Description

The Manual Tester will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and performance of software applications. This role involves executing manual testing procedures to identify bugs, usability issues, and ensuring the software meets the defined requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for detail, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with developers and other stakeholders. Responsibilities and Duties Test Planning and Design Review and analyse system specifications and requirements. Develop detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test cases and test plans. Identify testing priorities based on project timelines and deliverables. Test Execution Execute manual test cases and analyse results. Perform regression, functional, usability, and exploratory testing. Identify, document, and track bugs in the defect management tool. Retest resolved defects to verify fixes. Collaboration Work closely with developers, business analysts, and other team members to understand project requirements and scope. Participate in Agile/Scrum meetings, providing test-related insights and updates. Communicate testing progress, risks, and results effectively to stakeholders. Quality Assurance Ensure the application aligns with business requirements and end-user expectations. Conduct UI/UX assessments to enhance user experience. Maintain proper documentation of testing activities, results, and best practices. Desired Experience & Qualification Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience). Proven experience as a Manual Tester or in a similar role. Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes. Hands-on experience with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail). Familiarity with Agile frameworks and testing in Agile environments. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Good verbal and written communication skills. Basic understanding of programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python) for database and backend validation. Experience in testing web, mobile, and desktop applications. Knowledge of API testing and tools like Postman (optional). ISTQB Foundation Level or equivalent certification is a plus.
