Job Description

REQUIREMENTS Matric, 5 years experience in similar role Detail orientated, able to multitask, must be able to work under pressure and be able to perform to deadlines Must be comfortable working in a team with the buyers of the company Previous experience with Shipfin - Advantageous Excellent communication skills Excellent computer skills including proficiency on Excel Own reliable transport Available to work from 8h30 to 17h00 Monday to Friday DUTIES Ensuring shipments are arranged on time, orders are consolidated to ensure containers are filled to capacity and to avoid wasted space resulting in exorbitant shipping costs Liaise closely with suppliers in China, advising them of the dates when approval is required of their orders, and when the handover date is to take place to meet the required etd date. Communicate on a regular basis with forwarding company Regular follow up on the detail of the orders planned to ship, to communicate any delayed shipments and to request written communication in the event of delays for the buyers to communicate with their customers, as well as to confirm the actual sailing of planned shipments Publish a weekly shipping plan detailing every order placed to date, including the details of each specific order such as the units booked, the order number, the sailing date (etd), the eta as well as the customers delivery date Responsible for getting letters from our forwarders explaining the reasons for the delays in etas for the buyers to send to their customers Ensure that credit notes such as claims must be deducted when payments are made to the specific supplier Responsible for the payment of deposits to suppliers once orders are approved for production Responsible for sending the proof of payment to suppliers once received Once shipments are received, cleared, and delivered to warehouse Responsible for reconciling the costings of the orders received against the costings done for each order. Reconcile and complete foreign payments to Shipfin including the necessary documentation required by the bank for payments to be processed Complete monthly reports on excel on the last day of each month Compile Good in Transit (git) report and the pre-payments report Salary: R negotiable dependent on experience Join us on SOCIAL MEDIA or visit our WEBSITE for more information.
