Job Description

Key Responsibilities: As the Quality Manager , you will lead and oversee various quality initiatives, ensuring that our client meets the highest standards: Product Compliance & Certification: Manage product compliance testing for export sampling and certification of fish and other species. HACCP Leadership: Lead the HACCP team and create a culture of quality awareness within the plant by facilitating cross-functional collaboration on quality solutions. Customer Service & Regulatory Standards: Set customer service standards to ensure all products are fit for purpose and comply with both customer and regulatory requirements. Quality Management System Implementation: Oversee the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the quality management system, conducting audits and offering expert advice. Training & Development: Train staff on updated quality and food safety practices, ensuring the team is equipped to meet the latest standards and industry needs. Recall Preparedness: Lead mock product recalls, ensuring the team is prepared for actual recall scenarios. Annual Reviews & Documentation: Manage annual management reviews and ensure proper documentation procedures are in place for quality programs. Employee Health & Safety: Ensure all employees handling food products undergo necessary medical surveillance assessments. Team Leadership: Motivate and guide your team to deliver high-quality results consistently. Requirements: To be successful in this role, you should bring a blend of experience, expertise, and a passion for quality: Education: Grade 12, National Diploma in Food Technology, and Certificate in Quality Management. Experience: A minimum of 5 years in a senior quality role, with experience as a quality specialist or quality engineer in a quality management environment. Skills & Knowledge: Strong knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP, microbiology, NRCS inspection procedures, and industry legislation. Regulatory Expertise: Familiarity with external regulators and service providers such as NRCS, EU export compliance, HACCP, DEFF, MSC, and the TRACES system. License & Transport: A valid drivers license and your own transport.
