Job Description

Position Summary:
Responsible for the efficient operation and primary maintenance of the machine in which they are assigned. Machines which require operators include but are not limited to: edgebander, beam saw/horizontal panel saw, dowel inserter, hinge inserter, CNC router and v-groover. Machine operators should be meticulous by nature, able to multi-task and have the ability to foresee issues and provide solutions before they happen.
Required education and experience:
  • High School Degree or GED
  • Minimum of one year's employment with Adams Group in the manufacturing setting or verifiable equivalent experience with another millwork company
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Knowledge of calipers
  • Basic hand tool knowledge and experience
  • Must be able to read, interpret, and fully understand blueprints, drawings and cut lists
  • Understands the cabinet design to install hardware
  • Strong ability to be self-motivated to ensure all work is completed quickly and timely
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to work at a fast pace
Essential functions:
  • Ensure machine is properly set up and producing the quality of parts expected
  • Maintain all materials needed to successfully operate machine
  • Perform routine and periodic maintenance
  • Ability to reasonably diagnose and articulate issues with machine
  • Ability to use the computer as trained for specific machines
  • Perform milling, turning, taping and all saw operations
  • Report all abnormalities affecting the quality of parts or overall machine operation
  • Assists in keeping the plant clean

  • Ability to enter and retrieve data from computer.

Working Conditions:
  • This job operates in an open-air environment and is exposed to varying climates throughout the year.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.
