About the Position
The County of San Luis Obispo Health Agency is seeking a motivated Information Technology Specialist I/II to join our dynamic IT division. As part of our team, you will support the Health Agency by troubleshooting, maintaining, and enhancing the technology systems used across a range of healthcare programs. This position is responsible for providing end-user support, investigating and resolving software and hardware issues, coordinating training, and assisting in the implementation of system upgrades.

The Ideal Candidate

Minimum Qualifications
A combination of education, training, and experience resulting in the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. An example of qualifying education and experience includes:
Information Technology Specialist I Either A: An Associate degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, information technology or a closely related field AND one year of experience equivalent to Information Technology Technician. OR B: Certificate in Information Technology (CIT) or equivalent AND two years of experience equivalent to Information Technology Technician.
Information Technology Specialist II In addition to the above, one year of experience equivalent to an Information Technology Specialist I.

Pension Benefit and Employee Contribution Rates:
The County's pension is a defined benefit plan that provides a guaranteed monthly pension payment for life based on your time in service, wages, and other factors. The County is the primary contributor to the pension fund, but the health of the pension fund also depends on mandatory employee contributions. Employees are required to pay a percentage of their base pay towards the pension fund, ranging from 5% to 19%. This amount is deducted from your paycheck pre-tax every pay period.
