Job Description

Position Overview:

Lapp Tannehill is seeking an energetic and motivated Accountant to join our team. We are a leading national distributor of cable, connectors and electrical connectivity technologies based in Savage, Minnesota. Under the general direction of the controller and limited direction from the corporate offices in NJ, this position assists with all operations in connection with financial matters including but not limited to: cash management, budgeting and forecasting, account receivable, accounts payable, auditing, developing and initiating systems, and ensuring that the financial system is accurate, efficient, and in accordance with professional accounting practices and all governmental regulations. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare complete, timely and accurate journal entries, account reconciliations and analysis on a monthly basis (i.e. bank reconciliations and account analysis)
  • Assist in the completion of the respective reports and filings as required by Lapp Holding NA and Lapp Holding SE as well as the local tax authorities (i.e. balance sheet, profit and loss, sales tax reports).
  • Back up to Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Controller functions
  • Assist in development of all forms related to the annual business plan/budgets, forecasts, cost accounting methods, and marketing analysis.
  • Minimal travel possible (i.e. NJ corporate offices, Stuttgart corporate offices)
  • Sales tax specialists (collection, filing of returns, and use of Avalara software).
  • Manage the fixed assets and fixed asset software- including ROU assets, IFRS16.
  • Liaison between accounting and other departments (i.e. Supply Chain)
  • Project Manager (i.e. new system implementation)
  • Financial analysis, special projects and other finance related projects, as needed
Education and/or Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent from an accredited college/university and
  • Minimum of two (2) years related experience.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and IFRS
Skills/Knowledge:
  • The skill set for this position includes but is not limited to a high degree of; integrity, problem solving, organizational/communication/forecasting skills. They must be creative, take initiative, and be self-motivated.
  • To interpret and apply appropriate laws and regulations (IFRS included)
  • Computer skills, especially in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Avalara
  • Interpersonal & presentation skills
  • Proficient computer skills with ability to learn new systems
  • Outstanding relationship building and a committed team player
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles and activities
  • Proven analytical, detailed and organizational skills
  • Confidential, understands and follows high ethical standards


*Hybrid - 3 days on-site; 2 days remote
