Supplier Quality Engineer
ResourceTek is the Human Capital division of Barge Design Solutions, a multi-discipline Engineering and Architecture firm. We specialize in providing technical recruitment and staffing services to industry and government in all areas of Engineering, Information Technology, and a broad range of other technical disciplines.
In support of our client, a global automotive system supplier, we are seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer located in Shelbyville, TN. The right candidate will manage all aspects of the launch of new models/programs and design changes, interface directly with customers, suppliers, and production associates to implement supplier improvements, cost reductions, and provide supplier and/or customer support. This is a Direct Hire opportunity.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Submit customer specific documentation (PPAP, ANPQP, APQP, ISR, etc.) required for the launch of new model/programs and design changes for the supply base.
Support VA/VE trials, validation, and implementation at customer and supplier facilities for the supply base.
Joint check, tooling and process validation at customer and supplier facilities. Includes domestic and international support.
Conduct root cause analysis (8D) to improve processes and resolve customer issued corrective action requests.
Disposition suppliers suspect material and request Return Material Authorization Number.
Support technical training for suppliers as needed.
Assist in the implementation of manufacturing specifications, assembly procedures, and inspection standards as needed for suppliers.
Communicates frequently with internal and external contacts on various issues.
Must follow all company requirements in regard to Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related discipline and generally seven plus years of experience in a related field.
Have experience working with integrated computer programs and/or applications.
Have strong communication, administrative, and organizational skills, and possess the ability to coordinate multiple projects and programs.
Be able to pass all background checks and pre-employment tests, including any required drug test.
Be able to maintain the confidentiality of any information s/he encounters.

SPECIALIZED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Intermediate to advanced experience (beyond basic data entry) working with computer applications such as Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, PowerPoint, and other presentation applications and/or software.
