Job Description
Job Purpose
The Information Systems Specialist ensures the integrity, accuracy, and efficient use of constituent data within Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake's CRM system. This role is critical in supporting the various teams across the organization and especially the development team by providing data-driven insights, tracking constituent interactions, and maintaining high-quality records.

This position operates in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop/desktop computers, photocopiers and smart phones. Occasional travel to remote facilities and/or sites is necessary, this can include active construction sites, retail sites, events, meetings, and vendor locations and may require you to be outside in various weather conditions.
Physical Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required which would require the ability to lift files up to 25 LBS, event materials, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. This job may require prolonged times of sitting. Finger dexterity to use office equipment. This role may travel to jobsites, events and offsite meetings and would need to comply with the organization's safety guidelines.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Function as the subject matter expert on the CRM system, assuring effective use, operational standards, and accuracy by all HFHC staff.
- Train HFHC staff on best practices for data entry, record management, and report generation within the CRM system.
- Create guidelines and standards to assist with accuracy and consistency of all constituent data.
- Manage and maintain the organization's donor database, ensuring accurate and timely data entry of all donations, pledges, and donor interactions.
- Generate reports and analytics to support the fundraising efforts of the development team, including major gifts, corporate partnerships, and event-based giving.
- Collaborate with the Director of Development to track performance metrics and adjust strategies based on data insights.
- Facilitate integration of data with national collaboration strategies.
- Perform regular audits of donor records to ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and internal policies.
- Support grant reporting by tracking funder information and preparing data for proposal submissions.
- Support Major Gift work through tracking and measuring effective use of donor cycle.
- Develop and maintain data dashboards for tracking fundraising goals and donor engagement metrics.
- Assist with coordination and selection of auxiliary information software.
- Understand and adhere to the safety policies and procedures
- Exercise outlined protocol by immediately notifying and collaborating with management on any safety related incident and/or respond to a report involving Habitat or any other related team members (workers, volunteers, and subcontractors)
- If within area of purview initiate and / or provide assistance for the proper investigation regarding safety incidents by following Habitat Safety policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in data management, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in database management, preferably in a nonprofit setting required.
- Proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Virtuous, Salesforce, Raiser's Edge) and data analytics tools.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and provide actionable insights from data.
- Experience in training staff in data management processes.
- Flextime and work-from-home options may be available to full-time employees after a minimum of six months of employment and based on an evaluation of the requirements and duties of each position.
