Job Description

We are looking for a person to insert as Embedded Electronics Engineer to join our R&D Software and Electronics Development department based in Bussolengo (VR). The person will report directly to the R&D Senior Manager, Software & Electronic Development and will work in a team of other five members and multiple external partners. Position Summary We are looking for a candidate knowledgeable of electronics circuit design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the development and production of embedded electronics, knowledgeable of electronics circuit analysis/simulation and testing with some programming skills, for example in C and C++. Furthermore, the candidate should be familiar with electronic laboratory tools (oscilloscope, multimeter, signal generator, soldering tools) and electronics manufacturing processes. Being knowledgeable of 60601 series standards for medical devices and EMC testing is a plus. Responsibilities Prototype and Product Development and Measurement/Testing Identify and/or verify Electronics and Firmware solutions’ implementation of the technical requirements. Test prototypes of Electronics and Firmware solutions’ implementation. Share technical solutions with the relevant company functions (Product managers, Marketing, Design Assurance, R&D, Sales Force, etc.) and surgeons and other professionals in the medical industry. Support and translate in technical requirements the user’s needs involving the relevant stakeholders. Support the development of patent strategy about products. Coordinate, collaborate, and verify R&D specific teams’ activity and outsourced services on defined tasks and projects. Develop test plans and protocols supporting testing activity of prototypes and bug fixing. Oversee first uses of the designed products, workshop/cadaver lab, and surgery (if applicable) to ensure they perform and function according to specifications. Support product certification in compliance with applicable regulations and guidelines. Support product’s manufacturing suppliers’ selection and design transfer activities. Evaluate and test competitor products to find out opportunities for new products or enhancements of existing products. Development Projects Be an active contributor in the relevant activities during the Product Development Process, such as Risk Analysis assessment, Product Operative Technique development, Design for Manufacturing studies, Project Planning, Quality Engineering aspect for product qualification, Regulatory activities for products registrations. Contribute to manufacturing processes development. Prepare material to support file patent applications. Support product failure investigations and corrective actions. Education Skills Master’s degree in relevant fields. 3 years experience relevant to the position. Fluent English knowledge and other languages would be appreciated. Previous working experience in a regulated device industry or in a structured company is considered a plus. Motivation/passion to develop Medical Devices is a plus. Knowledge of Agile – Scrum is a plus. Technical Skills Design — Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the development and production of embedded electronics: Good knowledge of your field of specialization, embedded architectures, and mastery of the associated technical environment. Knowledge of electronic circuit design, analysis/simulation, and testing. Some programming skills, for example in C and C++. Familiarity with electronic laboratory tools: oscilloscope, multimeter, signal generator, soldering tools. EMC Knowledge. Familiarity with the V-model or agile methods. Patenting knowledge to collaborate for the patent documentation. Knowledge of 60601 series standards for medical devices and EMC testing is a major plus. Production and Processing Knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. Soft Skills Proactive person, critical thinker, excellent analysis and synthesis skills, good communication and team working ability. Able to organize your and others’ work, facilitating change. Curious about continuous improvement and learning mindset. Ability to understand the bigger picture and manage a certain degree of uncertainty. Pragmatic problem analysis and problem-solving attitude. Attention to details and accuracy.
