We are currently seeking an ETO Electrical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team in Castel Guelfo, Italy The Electrical Designer/Engineer primarily works on Engineering-to-Order (ETO) design projects to meet customer requirements in a team environment. These designs will mainly be UPS – MSS (Main Static Switch) – and pertinent ancillary like Transformer cabinets – Battery cabinets - BCB (Battery Circuit Breakers) – MBSM - TCE – Distribution boards - for use in data centers. Will be required to meet project goals such as schedule, manufacturability, and cost. This position will consist of creating designs, drawings, bills of material, and processing Engineering Change Orders. What kind of work will you be doing? Able to interpret schematics with electrical components such as IGBT – SCR - fuses and circuit breakers. Evaluates with AE team the custom technical requests, verify the feasibility, design, and define the cost of the customized solutions. Prepare and submit official quotations in accordance with ETO internal guidelines. Create electrical drawings, Bill of Material (BOM), specify parts. All following the PLM rules. Create submittal drawings for finished design. Liaise with sub-suppliers to optimize and select the most competitive solutions. Liaise with Application Engineering team to provide technical advice and information. Liaise with OPC (Order Processing Center) Team for ETO activities coordination. Support to the FWT team (Factory Witness Test) for the additional tests required by the ETO. Support prototype building process. Develop plans and provide schedule updates. Cooperate with the other engineering functions during the definition of the ETO specification. Provide good teamwork behavior with the Electrical team as well as other teams to establish productive cross-functional conditions. What will make you successful? Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering Associate degree in electrical engineering and 10 years of relevant experience OR High School Diploma and 15 years of relevant experience. Must have good planning, organizing, documentation and communication skills. Must be team-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced work environment. Capable of utilizing a personal computer and various applications programs, i.e., smartsheets, CAD electric, Autocad word processing, communications, etc. Deep knowledgeable on UPS-Power electronics and distribution systems Deep knowledge on pertinent standard IEC 62040 (UPS) IEC 60439 (LV switchgear and control gear) is a plus Knowledge of NEC and UL is a plus If YOU are the person we are looking for, feel free to apply and let's start drafting your future career in a healthy and growing environment The successful candidate will embrace Vertiv’s Core Principals & Behaviors to help execute our Strategic Priorities.
