Job Summary: The Concrete Batch Plant Operator is responsible for efficiently and accurately batching concrete for a precast concrete manufacturing facility. The operator ensures the production of high-quality concrete mixes according to specified formulas and customer requirements. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a solid understanding of concrete production processes.


Essential Functions:

1. Measurement. Accurately measure and weigh raw materials, including aggregates, cement, water, and additives, according to established mix formulas and customer specifications.

2. Protect family & friends. Safely operate and maintain batch plant equipment, including computerized batching systems, mixers, conveyors, and other machinery used in the production process.

3. Dedication. Monitor the quality of raw materials and finished concrete products by conducting regular tests and inspections, ensuring compliance with industry standards and specifications.

4. Communicate. Collaborate with the production team to determine daily concrete production requirements, prioritize workload, and ensure timely completion of batching tasks.

5. Mastery. Maintain accurate records of production data, including batch quantities, material usage, and any deviations from standard procedures. Generate reports as needed.

6. Safety always wins. Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to create a safe working environment. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of batching equipment to ensure optimal performance.

7. Efficiency. Identify and resolve any operational issues, equipment malfunctions, or product quality concerns promptly to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.

8. Focused. Monitor raw material inventory levels, coordinate material deliveries with suppliers, and notify appropriate personnel when replenishment is required.

9. Compulsive tinkering. Suggest and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, productivity, and product quality within the batch plant operations.

10. Respect and engage. Collaborate effectively with other team members, such as plant supervisors, quality control technicians, and maintenance personnel, to ensure seamless operations and achieve production goals.



Requirements, Education and Experience:

1. High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in concrete technology is a plus.

2. Experience as a batch plant operator or in a similar role within the concrete manufacturing industry, preferred but not required.

3. Knowledge of concrete mixing principles, batch plant equipment, and quality control procedures.

4. Strong mathematical skills and the ability to accurately measure and calculate material quantities.

5. Proficient computer skills, including experience with batching software and data entry.

6. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.

7. Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to troubleshoot operational issues quickly.

8. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

9. Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

10. Authorized to work in the U.S

Travel:

Position is not expected to travel regularly but may require up to 5% travel by personal vehicle to job sites and offices throughout the state of New York, and New England based on the needs of the business.


Work Environment/Physical Demands:

This job operates in an office and professional environment, as well as a manufacturing plant and construction environment. This role routinely uses office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers. This position also works on or near moving mechanical parts and loud equipment. Requires the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time as well as lifting, walking, pulling, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, walking, reaching, driving, and repetitive motion.
