SUMMARY: In all area of property, general building and property repair and maintenance responsibility to insure the operation requirements for the facility are met. Travel throughout the facility either by foot or riding an electric operated truck or tugger unit.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The individual must have the ability to perform the responsibilities listed below. The list is not all inclusive of duties that may be requested by the department head or a member of upper management but are intended for an understanding of the purpose of the position. It is the responsibility of each individual at AWG to provide ultimate customer service to our members to support their efforts in increasing same store sales and profits.
- Perform facility maintenance projects as assigned. Required skill:
- Ammonia Refrigeration Knowledge.
- Knowledge and experience in all phases electrical from 24 volt to 480 volt.
- Experience in maintenance and repair of electric industrial trucks.
- General knowledge in hand tools.
- Experience in maintenance and repair of batteries and chargers.
- General knowledge of hydraulics.
- General knowledge of HVAC.
- General knowledge in plumbing systems.
- Knowledge of concrete and asphalt repair.
- Knowledge of general OSHA safety rules.
- Knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) & Risk Management Plan.
- Knowledge of wear to parts for preventive maintenance.
- Ability to read electrical schematics.
- Experience in diagnosing electrical issues.
- Experience in diagnosing mechanical issues.
- Experience in maintenance and repairs of fire protection systems.
- Able to comprehend and write out work orders.
- General carpentry and painting skills.
- General welding and cutting skills.
- Knowledge of operation of powered platform lifts.
- Must own tools
- Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma preferred; minimum of 2 years building maintenance experience required as defined in this job description.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and speak fluent English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence relating to position. Must be able to read blueprints.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and apply concepts of basic math, geometry and algebra.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Posses the ability to work with coworkers and gain mutual respect with a common goal of increasing sales and profitability.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and smell. The employee must regularly lift 25lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Must be able to work in heights up to 50ft. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must have the ability to operate safely warehouse mobile equipment.

Indoors, with adequate cooling, heating, and adequate lighting. Outdoors as needed. Working in warehouse environment with moderate noise due to industrial mobile equipment operation and varied temperatures based on assigned work area. Temperatures will vary based on outside temperatures for the non-air-conditioned section and cool temperatures ranging from -15 to the upper 40's for the perishable sections. Working with and around maintenance tools and equipment.
This position's basic purpose is to use all available resources to assist the Distribution Department in continuous growth and financial success of the Membership and Company.
