About this position
This position is responsible for coordinating payments to child care service providers within the organization's Voucher Program. The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively, work both independently and collaboratively within a small, close-knit team, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for someone with an upbeat, positive attitude who is eager to support the organization's mission and achieve its strategic goals.
What you'll be doing
- Reviewing, calculating, and processing provider payments from attendance records and provider reimbursement request sheets;
- Assisting the program supervisor and program manager in preparation and disbursement of all tasks and reports;
- Assisting parents and providers with inquiries;
- Performing support functions, such as keyboarding, filing, mailing, data entry, and communicating with clients via email and telephone;
- Assisting the program supervisor and program manager with training and mentoring new payment analysts;
- Maintaining accurate provider payments projections;
- Reading and implementing all organization and program policies and procedures;
- Accurately completing all assigned paperwork and documentation on a timely basis, according to organization policies and procedures;
- Assisting the directors and management team;
- Performing other duties as assigned.
What you bring to the table
- Two years of basic bookkeeping or accounting experience;
- Ability to work well with people, with sensitivity to needs of children and families;
- Accurate keyboarding and data entry;
- Effective communication skills;
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365;
- Ability to effectively communicate in written and oral English;
- A California driver's license, daily use of an automobile, and automobile liability insurance;
- Fluency in Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin or Vietnamese (preferred);
- Associate's degree in accounting or related field (preferred).

Job specifications
- Reports to the program supervisor and program manager;
- Non-exempt, full-time, year-round schedule;
- Eight-hour workday; four-day workweek;
- Hybrid work schedule with approval by management;
- Limited evening or weekend hours may be required;
- Employment, responsibilities, compensation, and other factors may be affected by changes in governmental regulations, the organization's contracts, or at organization's discretion.
Salary
- $27.00 - $36.00 per hour
