Job Description
A career as a Senior Advisor with employees relations at National Bank means standing out and acting as an expert through various mandates while evolving certain practices in employment law. It means contributing to maintaining a harmonious working environment between employees and managers and leveraging your expertise in employment law to influence complex cases. Your job: Have a comprehensive vision of trends and issues in labor relations, both internally and externally, to propose and implement preventive strategies aligned with the organization’s values. Be responsible for the development, implementation, and governance of certain employee-related policies based on the organization’s evolution and jurisprudence. Act as a coach in various and complex cases, particularly in administrative, corrective, and disciplinary measures, underperformance management, and compliance. Diagnose problematic work climate situations and formulate innovative solutions adapted to different business realities. Act as a facilitator in complex conflict situations between management and employees. Advise management on settlement strategies to adequately manage risks for the organization. Act as a coach to team colleagues and other members of the employee relations community and contribute concretely to their development. Your team: Within the Employee Relations sector, you are part of a dynamic team that shares the values of complicity, agility, and empowerment. Prerequisites: Bachelor’s degree in law, industrial relations, or a related field, with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience; or a Master’s degree in a related field with relevant years of experience. In-depth knowledge of federal labor laws and best practices in employment law. Experience in coaching and advisory roles with managers at various hierarchical levels. Demonstrated influential leadership and rigor in managing complex cases. Experience in amicable dispute resolution. Adaptability to a dynamic environment and ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously within tight deadlines. Experience in managing complex mental health issues (an asset). Being a member of the Quebec Bar or holding the CRHA certification (an asset).
