Application Server Administrator - WebSphere

Role : WebSphere Application Server Administrator Years of Experience : 5-9 years Location : Chennai Joining : Only immediate joiner to Serving Notice Job Description : Responsibilities : WebSphere Installation and Configuration : - Install, configure, and maintain WebSphere Application Server (WAS) environments on multiple platforms (Linux, Windows, AIX, etc.) - Deploy and manage applications in WAS, including application servers, clusters, and data sources. - Monitor WAS performance using various tools and logs, troubleshoot issues, and apply performance tuning techniques. - Implement and configure security measures such as SSL, authentication, and authorization within WAS environments. - Plan and perform backups of WebSphere servers and data, as well as create and execute disaster recovery procedures. - Apply updates, patches, and fixes to WebSphere and associated components, ensuring high availability and minimal downtime. - Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to WebSphere Application Server, including server errors, application failures, and performance bottlenecks. - Maintain accurate documentation related to WAS configurations, changes, deployments, and troubleshooting steps. - Work closely with developers, network administrators, and IT operations teams to ensure smooth operation and integration of WebSphere with other enterprise systems. Required Skills and Experience : - Strong understanding of WebSphere Application Server architecture and administration. - Experience with WAS installation, configuration, and deployment. - Proficiency in scripting languages (Shell, PowerShell) for automation. - Knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTPS) and security concepts. - Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting tools. - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Preferred Skills : - Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud) - Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) - Experience with DevOps practices and tools (Jenkins, Ansible) (ref:hirist.tech)
