Job Description : As the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading a high-performing team of engineers in designing, building, and maintaining our scalable backend services. You will work closely with product managers, architects, and other leaders to deliver reliable and high-quality products while fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence. Key Responsibilities : - Lead and manage a team of backend engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback. - Own the design, development, and maintenance of scalable backend services and APIs using NodeJS, MySQL, and MongoDB. - Work closely with product managers and stakeholders to define technical requirements, priorities, and timelines. - Drive technical excellence by setting coding standards, performing code reviews, and ensuring adherence to best practices. - Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams to optimize performance, scalability, and reliability of backend services. - Identify and mitigate risks to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality software. - Advocate for best practices in software development, including test automation, CI/CD, and system monitoring. - Foster a culture of continuous learning, encouraging the team to explore new technologies and approaches to improve development processes. - Manage team performance, ensuring engineers have clear career paths, growth opportunities, and necessary support to succeed. - Lead cross-functional collaboration across teams to deliver complex, multi-system projects efficiently and effectively. Requirements : Must-Have : - Experience : 7 years of experience in software development, with 3 years in a leadership role managing engineering teams. - Backend Expertise : Strong hands-on experience with NodeJS, MySQL, MongoDB, and building large-scale, distributed systems. - Leadership : Proven experience in leading and mentoring engineering teams, with a focus on technical growth and professional development. - Architecture & Design : Deep understanding of system design, architecture patterns, and API design best practices. - Problem Solving : Strong analytical and debugging skills, with a track record of solving complex technical challenges. - Collaboration : Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and departments. - Agile Practices : Experience with agile methodologies, including sprint planning, retrospectives, and continuous delivery.
