Job Description

1st Shift 6:30 AM to 5 PM Monday through Thursday (OT on Friday 6:30 am to 3 pm and Saturday 6:30 am to 12 pm as needed for production)

$19.00 to start

Chassis Driver Summary

The driver’s responsibility will be to ensure the chassis are received, inspected, staged, and delivered safely with efficient service that meets the expectations and need of our customers.

Chassis Driver Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Deliver supreme internal and external customer service
  • Pulling/Fueling/Staging units
  • Pre-Trip Inspection (when applicable)
  • Driving short/long distances
  • Identify stock numbers clearly (in front windshields)
  • Read and interpret data (work orders)
  • Navigate roads and highways
  • Climb in and out of units daily

Chassis Driver Required Education, Knowledge & Skills:

  • Maintain a valid driver’s license (Class B)
  • Maintain a clean driving record
  • Min of 3 years truck driving experience
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance.
  • Able to back up, drive and maneuver units in tight areas
  • Identify potential hazards before moving units
  • Able to navigate roads and highways
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operations manual, and written directions.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to perform the essential job functions consistent safely and successfully within the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly in person and on telephone and with customers
  • Frequently climbing
  • Constantly Sitting/Driving for long periods of time
  • Occasionally lift up to 30lbs.
  • Occasional walking, standing, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, crawling, and kneeling.

Work Environment:

Manufacturing Work Environment that will at times provide exposure to weather, noise intensity level, and proximity to moving mechanical parts.

Work Schedule:

6:30 am to 5:00 pm Monday thru Thursday, 6:30 am to 3:00 pm on Friday 6:30 am to 12 pm Saturday, additional time as needed.

Travel: Daily trips; no overnight delivery
